For what it's worth:

Many people view coffee or a cup of coffee as a negative: it is a drug substitute. Even though the Java logo historically is connected with coffee, doesn't change this negative. I suggest a fresh start for JavaFX. How about something more furturistic? Perhaps use a futuristic FONT for JavaFX, and that becomes the logo -- the name of the language itself in a futuristic font.

I'd rather get away from the coffee-drug aspect entirely.
